Evin Shutt is ascending to CEO from her previous role as director of brand operations, effective immediately. Matt Jarvis will move into a role as co-chairman. A source with knowledge of the agency explained that Jarvis’s role will be ongoing and evolving role. He will focus on strategy, business development, coaching and leadership, as well as working on his coaching tree program and sharing the leadership practice he has built more publicly.

“Evin is an innovator with a bias for action,” Jarvis said in a statement. “We are all stewards of 72andSunny, and having Evin as our shot-caller unlocks further ambition and energy for all of us to seize the exciting future which lies ahead.”

Since arriving as the budding agency’s first employee in 2004, Shutt has played an instrumental role in helping to build the agency from a team of five to a team of over 700 across offices in Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam, Sydney and Singapore.

Shutt also played a key role in the development of 72andSunny’s production studio Hecho Studios, corporate responsibility consulting practice Brand Citizens and development of  the agency’s talent and culture, which includes a diversity and inclusion playbook. The evolution of 72andSunny’s talent and culture strides have been recognized by the 3% Conference and The Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media.

“After 15 years we have taken 72andSunny to a very high basecamp,” Shutt said in a statement. “Our track record of success, the depth and quality of our relationships, and the company’s strong creative identity and talent have put us in a position of strength as we grow into the future.”
